Not buying more war

I can't help but think that Obama's continued support of war in Afghanistan is a handout to the military industrial complex, and a political move to pacify this country's right wing.

Continued war is not a good use of resources. If we were so concerned about the health and well being of the everyday Afghani then we would probably cover all our own citizens health care needs and be prepared for disasters such as Katrina.

Anyone complaining about taxes, or what we can or cannot afford in health care, should be outraged by a "surge" in the Afghanistan war. Al Qaeda's ranks are reportedly around 100 these days, most residing in Pakistan. Can we actually get over yesterday's wars so we can focus on all tomorrow's challenges?
